Personal BIO

Welcome
You might or might not want to know something about me. Here is the page for you to find out.
I'm 45 (that number works better with the shift key on $%), born but not raised in the UK.

I have two lovely
but sometimes frustrating children,
Niall (pronounced Nile) 7 and Alinta 24.

Velcro the cat, she's a Persian cross
and she is......cross
 And Skully
our mini fox terrier, the smallest dog
on the dog beach
Jezabelle, our local harlot!

I love the great out doors, that is why I live where I live, Hobart! (Tasmania) you can see the mountain from generally any spot on either side of the River Derwent.

This photo is taken from where I go swimming. I suppose I am in awe of her. I love to take a photo or three and Mt Wellington is practically the backdrop for every one! (practically).

She is geographically located : 42°53′57″S 147°13′57″E

You could have a look here: Mt Wellington Tasmania  (thank you Wikipedia) if you have never even heard of her before.
And I live in the foot hills and have been there for many years.

Hobart a lovely place to be.
I'm new to the studying thing, (but have now been studying for over a year) before, when I was working in the fitness industry, for over 24 years, we had our updates, our certificate courses, and yes I suppose that required a degree of study but not to the extent that I am currently undertaking.  I have selected  Curtin University and am thrilled with the fact that I am participating on line using a plethora of media options to make this happen!

About Me

There is a reason that I have included hyper linked words through out my "about me" section. Notably they enable my story to lead you on a more enriched journey about myself. Consider if I wrote about EVERYTHING that has affected in my short life history, it would take up what could possibly be an infinite amount of pages, and I don't have time for that and you don't have time to read all that...The links allow you to come back at some stage and peruse aspects of history that affected my life as I have grown.

I reside here: Hobart, Tasmania, Australia
My name is Laura, named after both my paternal and maternal grandmothers. I’m a 45-year-old single parent of two really wonderfully tolerant (but sometimes frustrating) children (the first picture you saw). I was born in England (Essex), my family emigrated to Australia in 1967 as part of the migration assistance scheme tentatively called the  Ten Pound Pom promotion. We embarked on what was at the time (for a one year old) a rather large sea-going ship called the Castel Felice  for an extended journey via Africa's Cape of Good Hope. The Castel Felice would have normally sailed the Suez Canal but due to the six day war that affected all ships in that short time, my family had an extended chicken poxed and sea sickened affected sea going voyage.  We arrived  in the latter half of 1967 to Adelaide's migrant disembarkation point the Pennington Hostel . I’ve been in Tasmania since 1969 which is seems for most accounts is most of my life.  I appear to have a fascination for my local mountain Mt Wellington, overshadowing  Hobart the capital city of the island state of Australia known now as Tasmania (formally known as Van Diemans Land, Penal Colony). I live in the foot hills and wake up to  every single day to something that I never get tired of : the view. My interestingly named blog demonstrate my devotion to photographing its many moods and foothills activities. I appear to include it as a background in as many photos as I can, it's better than a movie backdrop to say the least!
I'd like to make note that I embarked on the education super highway in 2010, having originally  enrolled in two courses with Curtin University Web 101 and Net 102 certainly whet my scholastic appetite for study,,still here and am now half way through my University degree collectively participating in 3rd year subject as well as electives. I started this blog at the commencement of Study Period Three, 2010 and as such have utilising this blog to map some of my journey through learning by posting my readings, unit work ,photography, interesting items and my ever-w-i-d-e-n-i-n-g  Internet presence. Since the inception of this blog, I have commenced numerous others. GRAFFITIdawg.blogger.com is just one for an academic unit. And NOW I am part of a co-operative collective force through the Internet site http://www.iitdesigns.com.au/, come visit, you will find me there. thanks for reading.. keep an eye out for me
